Hi John, Jane and Mariana -

I was trained in Orgone Therapy by Dr. Daniel Schiff who was trained by Dr. Michael Rothenberg who was trained by Baker. I was also trained in Hakomi, which is a mindfulness-based neo-Reichian lineage.

I was hyper sensitive to energy ever since I was a little boy and track patterns intensely, almost against my own will.

So what I discovered over the years is that there are odd phenomena occurring with character structures For example, when using mindfulness with a phallic narcissistic pattern, clients would often complain of a "black bug with moving legs at the back of their neck" or a spider-like feeling/visual. Aside from suggesting mindfulness of the neck area, this wasn't guided by me - it was all initiated by each client. Relatedly, these same clients would often say the number 5 three times in a sentence e.g. "I told my girlfriend, I'll be there in 5 minutes. I told her 5 minutes! And she just couldn't wait 5 minutes?!". I started seeing that the phallic narcissistic pattern was deeply correlated with spiders and 5-5-5. Sometimes a literal spider would come down from the ceiling just as a client was getting activated. Over time, I started massaging or gripping the back of the neck anytime there was a reference to a spider or the number 555 and almost always there would be some type of emotional release. In the olden days, I used to only work the back of the neck if there was some obvious armor there; now I am using these references as a guide as well. When I ignored these "messages", my clients would escalate their characterological behavior and start dominating me. So I learned to not ignore them! I started calling these "spider-like experiences", "spider demons".

Another example involves masochism. Years ago I was meditating and I spontaneously saw a green goblin like entity on top of my head. It stuck its tail in my anus and I fell over in exhaustion. The next day, a client was describing masochistic patterns (e.g. feeling heavy and tired) and suddenly described a goblin on top of his head and a tail piercing his anus. I did not say a word about my experience the night before; it was all his own initative. I started conjecturing that masochism is not simply, as Reich put it, an attempt to burst through provoking other to provoke the masochistic himself, but also a spiritual phenomena where some type of goblin inserts itself into a tight anus offering some bandaid soothing to a tight anal structure; that this can only last oh so long; eventually the person needs to burst but uses the demon to temporarily soothe the tension. I started calling these "demons" "snake demons".

I've read about exorcisms and started noticing that what exorcists do and what Orgone Therapists do are quite similar in practice: a feeling of and a moving of stuck energy. Perhaps Orgone Therapists are "exorcising" the character demons out of their clients!

I've noticed that the schizoid structure doesn't simply have an ocular block. With mindfulness, clients will report that they lose their soul out of their head. I've had countless clients identify the exact location of their soul in the room. Sometimes I can even see it. Its spooky.

Reich, in his last years, was talking about DOR from UFO's; I wonder if he was tapping into what I am calling demons or what contemporary new-agey people call "reptiles" which seems to correlate with what Gnosis calls Archons.

Less esoterically, I find that the characters are sometimes not just a stand alone phenomena, but a relational phenomena. Phallic narcissism requires a masochist or oral character to dominate; Masochism requires a phallic narcissist energy to feel victim to.

Sometimes, I find myself getting very sleepy. With two clients that I have a deep relationship with, I allowed myself to fall into the sleepiness and found myself channeling their unresolved childhood traumas. For example, I lied on the floor and felt compelled to tilt my head back and started crying. My client immediately recalled that something similar happened to her as a little girl and we explored the trauma associated with that. Its like I was being pulled, energetically, into her ungrieved pain behaviorally/symbolically. The Family Constellations lineage has helped validate my choice to do this kind of exploration.

I've been sitting with these concepts for years and could say a LOT more but wanted to see if all this so far is resonant at all with anyone else.
